Earl Conway Driver was born August 4, 1953 – oldest child of Morris and Barbara Driver residing near Emporia, Va. Earl grew up on a family farm located in Greenville County, Virginia. Graduated from Greenville County High School 1971. Attended Chowan College, Murfreesboro, N.C. 71-73 graduating with an AA in Pre-Law. Attended Virginia Tech 1973-74. Enlisted in USAF 1975. Honor graduate from USAF basic training San Antonio, Tx 1975. Direct Duty assignment to 92nd Bomb Wing Fairchild AFB, Spokane, Wa 1975-78. USAF approved Boot-Strap degree completion program 1978. Attended ROTC Eastern Washington University, Cheney, Wa 1978-1980. ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate 1980. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in U.S. Army Dec 1980. Attended Officer Basic Training, Airborne School and assigned to 5th Special Forces Group at Ft Bragg, N.C. Returned to Spokane, Wa 1981 and married Susan Louise Johns. In 1983, branch transferred to United States Army Medical Service Corps. Successfully completed numerous schools, training opportunities, and military assignments over a twenty year period – both commanding and serving in senior staff positions. Retired from the military 2001 following 20 years of service. Awarded Legion of Merit at retirement. From 2003-2018 served as Military Analyst at Ft Lee, Va. I retired from Civil Service in 2018. Susan and I have been married for almost 43 years. We have travelled all over the world. Since 2007, we have made Powhatan our home. We have attended Passion Community Church (PCC) for several years. Before attending PCC, we attended Hope Church. Over the years Susan and I taught Sunday School classes at Alamo Christian Fellowship Church in San Antonio, Tx and played music at a couple of churches throughout Virginia. Recently, I have assisted with Powhatan Habitat work and PCC “Do Good” projects. I strive to assist family and friends in need whenever I am able. Susan volunteers in Powhatan and now at PCC. We have three wonderful sons: Christopher, Nicholas and Brandon. We have one granddaughter: Gabrielle.
